The website for Egghead Books
is under construction.

In the meantime, you may
visit the site of its owner,
writer and fine art photographer,
Michelle A. Demers.

Egghead Books is intended as a writers’
collective where we offer support and
feedback on projects and promote each
other’s publications.

Egghead Books arose after I began the process
of self-publishing my first novel,
Baby Jane,
and realised that we’re all out there on our own trying
to catch the attention of the public
but what if we
banded together instead, building upon our
individual contacts to create a larger shared audience?

A website is in the works where members will have administrative access so they
can post updates on their projects and build their own author page; resource pages
listing local editors and book designers; links to other online resources, and information
and articles on the publishing industry; and a forum for the sharing of ideas.

Egghead Books currently publishes the books of M. A. Demers. It is also intended to be a shared publishing imprint for new writers who don’t wish to apply for and maintain their own ISBN account with Library and Archives Canada, or to manage the various distribution accounts that self-publishing inevitably leads to, and which would meet the demand some sales channels have for a minimum number of titles made available by account holders. However, there are many legal and accounting obstacles that need to be addressed before we can go down that road, so for the moment sharing of the imprint will remain only a possible future endeavour.
